5 Indoor ‘Not So Mainstream’ Sports to Try this Winter
Looking to shelter from the storms of this winter but want to keep active at the same time? Here are 5 Indoor Sports to try that you might not have thought of. We have even provided some local facilities so you can give these a go this winter.
Axe Throwing - Release some stress and get a great workout at the same time! Axe throwing is a physical activity that provides both mental and emotional benefits. Facilities offer a safe and controlled environment to let it fly. Teens can participate with a legal guardian present.
A couple of area places to check out
Roller Skating - Enjoy a blast from the past while getting your cardio on. Skating burns calories as well as builds lower body muscles... and frankly, it’s just good old-fashioned fun.
Guptill's Arena - Latham - Saturday evenings feature the music of the ’80s, ’90s, and today.
Indoor Rock Climbing - Conquer your fear and ascend to great heights! This low-impact workout strengthens muscles and improves flexibility and coordination. You'll definitely feel it in the shoulders!
Archery - Channel your inner Robin Hood and give archery a try. Archery is known to improve hand-eye coordination and increase skills such as patience and focus. Great group activity!
Far Shot - Albany - They also have Axe Throwing and Knife Throwing!
Laser Tag - So much fun you won’t even realize you’re exercising. Carrying the laser tag equipment is great upper body exercise, and running around the arena gets that heart rate up.
