The Altamont Fair is a Capital Region summer tradition that brings together everything people love about a classic county fair.

Next up is the Washington County Fair, another annual favorite for families throughout the region.
From 🐄 livestock and agricultural exhibits to 🎡 midway attractions and 🎶 entertainment, the fair offers a little something for everyone.
It's also a great reminder of the agricultural heritage that continues to play such an important role in communities throughout Upstate New York. 🌾

As summer starts to wind down, the Columbia County Fair gives families another opportunity to enjoy classic fair traditions.

And then there's the big one! ⭐
The Great New York State Fair runs for 13 days in 2026, from August 26 through September 7.
There’s no shortage of things to see and do, including 🎶 concerts and performances, 🌾 agricultural exhibits, 🍴 food and vendors, 🎭 cultural programming, 👨👩👧👦 family attractions, competitions, demonstrations, and much more.
The official daily schedule makes it easy to plan your visit by day and see what's happening throughout the fairgrounds. Some of the 2026 highlights include live performances, cultural villages, agricultural programming, the Family Fun Zone, entertainment stages, and special events.
For example, opening day on Wednesday, August 26, features activities ranging from the State Fair Sand Sculpture and NYS Parks programming to the Corgi Races, Canine Stars Stunt Dog Show, live entertainment, and an evening performance by The All-American Rejects. 🎸🐶🎪
